As the school year winds down St. Paul's Family and Youth Ministry program is gearing up for the summer season. We hope you are able to participate in some of the events coming up for youth and adults.

St. Paul's Fall Festival

Upcoming Events

Young Couples Small Group

We are starting a new small group for young couples. The group plans to meet monthly led by Dietrich and Emilie Drenkow. If interested in joining the group, contact the church office at 352-3850.

St. Paul's Softball Team  

Games have begun and St. Paul's has a great team! Games run through mid-July (for adults 18 or older) and are played at the Waverly fair grounds Sunday evenings. To join the team contact Melissa Tapken at 352-2051. 

Canoe Trip // June 22-23

Families and all nature-lovers are invited for a fun two-day adventure in Decorah. Plans are to canoe the Upper Iowa River, stay overnight at Luther College, enjoy dinner out on the town, worship at a local congregation Sunday morning, and hike to Dunning Springs for a picnic in the afternoon. Contact the church office to indicate your interest.

Family Camp // June 28-30

Families, adults, and couples are invited to Camp Ewalu for their weekend family camp.  Enjoy activities led by camp staff, including morning worship, evening campfires, nature hikes, swimming, hiking, fishing, Bible studies, the ropes challenge course, and time dedicated to family renewal. Holy Family Visit // June 18-21

Host families are needed for Holy Family youth who plan to visit Waverly July 18-21. If interested in hosting a student or helping with activities, contact the church office, 352-3850, or email Paul Frantsen.

5th-6th VBS Retreat // July 19

We will have a special one night VBS retreat for the 5th and 6th grade students from 6-10pm.  Join us for an evening of fun with the VBS theme "God's Backyard Bible Camp" all in one night! 

Confirmation Camp // July 21-26

It's a week at Camp Ewalu for 6th grade confirmation students including outdoor experiences, learning, and fun led by highly devoted, fun-loving counselors. The camp theme is “Faith Alive” focused on putting faith into daily practice. Activities include campfire programs, Bible studies, nature hikes, time at the pool, the high ropes course, and a canoe trip on the Turkey River. Download a registration form.

Holy Family Visit // Date TBD

Each summer we host youth from Holy Family Lutheran Church in Chicago. The youth stay in homes and do a variety of activities with our youth group. The visit is for 3-4 days. If you would like to host a Holy Family youth, contact the church office to indicate your interest.
