Children's Drama
On Easter morning St. Paul's junior high youth presented a mime drama of the Easter story for children. The drama, entitled “New Creation in Christ,” used the life cycle of the butterfly to relate the Easter story to the kids in a fun and unique way. The youth presented a magical story that followed a caterpillar and it’s friends through the seasons of life. The youth had fun creating their own costumes and make-up designs, as well as transforming St. Paul’s Center for Ministry into a large-scale environment of the insect world.
The drama included balloons, bubbles, and plenty of interaction with the children and adults in the audience. Victoria Asplund played the caterpillar that underwent a mysterious transformation, as she formed a cocoon, and then finally emerged as a beautiful butterfly with colorful wings. The story reflected on what Easter is all about, the new life we have in Christ. The youth were thrilled to get to present the drama a second time for St. Paul's school worship service.
Thank you to all who helped bring the story to life! Junior high participants included Victoria Asplund, Justine Brietbach, Bethany Frantsen, Ariana Gremmels-Olson, Amy Kallenberger, Bailey Lambert, Sean Lord, Rachel Lynch, Shelena Pascual, and Mady Walvatne.
The youth are excited about next year already. We plan to create another new Easter drama next year. Hope to see you there!
