News about events and activities of St. Paul's Junior High Youth
5th Quarter
We counted 201 junior high students who attended the 5th Quarter on October 1st at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The event followed the homecoming football game, and concluded at midnight. The night featured a dance in the Parish Hall hosted by a DJ. The music was loud but tasteful, and included a dance competition, and some line dances taught to the kids. St. Mary's ran a snack booth out of the kitchen where youth could redeem coupons for food items. Besides the dance, kids hung out in the two youth rooms downstairs and played foosball, ping pong, and Guitar Hero.
Plenty of chaperones were on hand to watch the kids, and some even joined in one of the line dances. 18 chaperones came from St. Paul's, St. Mary's, Redeemer, Trinity Methodist, and Wartburg College. The junior high students love coming to St. Paul's for the 5th Quarter each year, and we're happy to host the event. It is a great way to support the junior high students and provide a safe, fun environment for them to hang out in and have some fun together.
